Water Balance in Industry
Climate change has made Portugal a country extremely susceptible to prolonged periods of drought, in which water will be increasingly scarce and which will have to be extremely well managed. All industries need water, so its management is essential to ensure the maintenance of production capacity, especially in periods when water may be rationed.
We perform the Water Balance in your industry that should allow you to know/have:
What is the water consumption by areas;
What is the consumption and waste of water;
What are the costs associated with water consumption;
In-depth knowledge of all water networks, their operating regime and automatisms and water quality at all points;
Identify opportunities to reduce consumption and eliminate losses;
Identify alternative sources of water (rainwater, treated wastewater, unused process water);
Adjust the water quality to the function within the factory, limiting the use of water for human consumption for strictly necessary purposes;
Tool development for the continuous management of all water networks, to identify at the moment undue consumption and ruptures.
The water balance of each manufacturing unit will allow reducing the water footprint of that unit, ensuring the best possible management of this resource, whether it is used as water for human consumption, raw material, refrigeration, etc..
