Quimitécnica Ambiente has, in the Parque Empresarial do Barreiro, two licensed premises: one for the physical-chemical treatment of waste and the other for the movement and storage of industrial waste.

Both premises have stringent health and safety regulations, along with all necessary safety equipment, and rigid controls are in place due to the nature of the business and the types of materials which are stored and handled.

1. Storage and Physical-chemical Treatment of Industrial Waste

This unit provides for the decomposition of metallic cyanides, hexavalent chromium reduction and the treatment of oily water and contaminated with metals. There are still made, on a pilot scale, waste workability tests. It has several storage areas established according to the characteristics of the stored waste, and complying with the strictest safety rules.

2. Transfer and Storage of Industrial Waste

This facility allows for the storage of bulk solid waste and its transfer to a final authorized destination by way of “trans-border movements”.
The activities of these two facilities are complementary and integrated(lay-out waste management lay-out in the premises). Their physical closeness provides logistical simplicity for the client and a benefit to Quimitécnica Ambiente.



Eco-Oil
It has, in Mitrena – Setúbal, an oil wastewater treatment facility, which is owned by its partner, Eco-Oil, and which receives and treats both oil wastewater and waste that is contaminated with hydrocarbons:

1. From cleaning services (ship tanks, railroad tanks, storage tanks…); and
2. Oil / water emulsions.

 

It integrates the waste management service of Quimitécnica Ambiente and the vicinity of Barreiro allows a logistic optimization of the service to the client and a benefit to the waste management services Quimitécnica Ambiente can offer.


Ecodeal premises


Quimitécnica Ambiente has an equity interest in Ecodeal, located in Chamusca, which is an integrated centre for the recovery, valorisation and elimination of industrial waste (CIRVER).
This operation has a laboratory, a classification unit, separation and transfer; a physical-chemical treatment unit; an organic waste treatment unit; a contaminated packaging valorisation unit; a stabilization unit; a dangerous industrial waste landfill; and a unit for the decontamination of soils.

This facility provides Quimitécnica Ambiente with the means to solve most of Portugal’s industrial waste problems.
